In an exciting day of competition, Sagamore Racing secured two wins on Sunday, September 20 as Charm City Girl scored her third career victory at Laurel Park and Future Show broke her maiden at Belmont Park.

Coming off of a tough finish in the Grade 3 WinStar Matchmaker Stakes, Charm City Girl looked to bounce back to her winning ways in Race 9 at Laurel Park. Slated in the No. 2 post, Charm City Girl competed like a true veteran over the 1-mile turf track, recording her third career victory by ½ length in comeback fashion.  The four-year-old filly by Pioneerof the Nile, out of Charming Toutsie, by Storm Cat now posts a 10-3-2-3 career record. Previously trained by Graham Motion, Charm City Girl reigned victorious this week under jockey Horacio Karamanos and trainer Horacio De Paz.

 

In just her second career start, Future Show broke her maiden in Race 1 at Belmont Park under jockey Junior Alvarado and Hall of Fame trainer Graham Motion. Coming out of the No. 4 post, the three-year-old filly by Malibu Moon, out of Vienna Affair, by Red Ransom comfortably took first in the 1 ¼-mile turf test by 3 ¾ lengths. After placing in her first two career starts, all eyes are on Future Show as she continues to impress.
