It’s 6:30 a.m. at Sagamore Racing in Glyndon, the horse racing farm owned by Under Armour founder Kevin Plank, and while the experienced horses thunder around the track, even the yearlings are hard at work.

This year, nine of the farm’s young homebred colts are preparing to become racehorses. Under the guidance of experienced trainers, they’re desensitized to touch and trained to stay calm in scenarios designed to mimic the rigors of racing.
